A significant order was received by Quantron shortly after being incorporated in the United States. TMP Logistics has signed a framework agreement with Quantron US to deliver 500 heavy-duty fuel cell trucks by 2024.

During the Hydrogen Americas Summit in Washington, DC, the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs announced the agreement, which amounts to almost one billion euros. The deal hasn’t been officially announced by Quantron.

The founder and CEO of Quantron, Andreas Haller, and Raymond F. Staples, Chairman of TMP Logistics, signed the contract in the presence of Minister of State Aiwanger at the “Hydrogen Americas Summit” in the U.S-Capital city.

Minister of State Aiwanger : “Bayern backed the right horse early on with hydrogen. The decarbonization of the truck-Traffic is a central task in the energy transition. The current energy crisis is calling even louder for solutions without fossil fuels, and the trend towards using hydrogen has accelerated. Alone in theUnited Stateswill the need for heavy fuel cell truck estimated at up to 300,000 vehicles by 2030. This Bavarian-American framework agreement marks the start of close transatlantic cooperation in the promising market for climate-neutral mobility. In Europe, too, the hydrogen truck break through.”

Quantron is one of the leading German specialists for zero-emission buses, truck, and commercial vehicles. At the IAA Transportation in September, the company presented a long-range hydrogen truck as well as cooperations with the Canadian fuel cell manufacturer Ballard Power and the Indian vehicle manufacturer ETO Motors. The Bavarian Ministry of Economics had the development of a fuel cell trucks sponsored by Quantron. “With the framework agreement, we have taken an important step in theU.Smarket and are very well positioned for the challenges ahead. We would like to thank the Bavarian Minister of State Hubert Aiwanger for his support and tireless commitment to hydrogen mobility,” explains Quantron Chairman Andreas Haller.

The Bavarian Economics Minister had previously opened the hydrogen network meeting “Hydrogen Americas Summit” in Washington with a keynote speech in the Delegation of German Industry to Commerce. “Bavaria plays a leading role in the development of the hydrogen economy in Germany. Immediately after I took office, we founded the hydrogen center H2.B. Since then, the Bavarian Hydrogen Alliance has grown rapidly and now has almost 300 members. With our hydrogen strategy presented in May 2020, we want global market potential use, strive for technology leadership and promote the H2 conversion in industry and transport,” explained Aiwanger. The industry will create many future-proof jobs in Bavaria.

Science and business in Bavaria have achieved a technological leadership in hydrogen. “From research to the production of electrolysers or commercial vehicles, Bavaria is excellently positioned. We are a very attractive partner for international cooperation,” said Aiwanger.

During the Washington trip, the Minister of State established contacts with several leading representatives of theU.S-Ministries of Energy and Transport. Aiwanger also spoke to the German ambassador in Washington, drEmily Haber. Aiwanger: “International networking is an important task for the development of a Bavarian hydrogen economy, which can become the launchpad for a good future for many Bavarian companies.”
