Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region Invests 8 million Euros into Hydrogen Stations

On Friday, February 15th, the Standing Committee of the Regional Council adopted a resolution that would see the The Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region purchase a 33% stake in t Hympulsion for eight million euros.

Hympulsion will be responsible for installing and operating 20 hydrogen refueling stations.

The region will thus be the largest shareholder of this Hympulsion. The others partners in this company are Michelin tire manufacturer with (22.8% of the shares), Engie with  (22.8%), the Caisse des Dépôts (16.9%). %) and Crédit Agricole (4.6%).

Hympulsion was created on November 6th by Engie and Michelin as part of the ZEV (Zero Emission Valley) project, which aims to simultaneously deploy a thousand vehicles and 20 hydrogen refuelling stations using 100% renewable hydrogen in the Auvergne region.

Laurent Wauquiez, the president of the Region, said ” With Zero Emission Valley, the first European project on hydrogen, we are implementing this project which will make our Region one of the main areas of European innovation in the field of the environment.”
