Bouygues Construction Invests in PowiDian a Specialist in Autonomous Hydrogen Based Energy Production

Bouygues Energies & Services, a partner in the energy and digital transformation of territories, industries and buildings, and Construction Venture, an investment vehicle in Bouygues Construction start-ups, announce the signing of an investment agreement in PowiDian , specialist in “green” hydrogen solutions for the energy independence of regions.

Positioned on the energy transition, PowiDian develops 100% renewable electricity production solutions for isolated and energy autonomous sites. These generators work with all types of renewable energy. Energy storage is in the form of green hydrogen produced by electrolysis. The energy is then restored at the desired time through a fuel cell.
Powidian is developing the MobHylpower® range, a line of zero-emission hydrogen generator sets to replace polluting and noisy diesel sets.

“  Financed and supported for 6 years by the Xerys Funds, today we are very happy to welcome the Bouygues Group to the capital of PowiDian. This financial participation is coupled with an ambitious commercial agreement which should enable us to significantly accelerate our development  ”explains Jean-Marie Bourgeais, Chairman of PowiDian.

Bouygues Energies & Services supports its customers in the energy transition and offers a range of services around green hydrogen in France and abroad. This investment agreement and the associated partnership contract structure an ambitious co-development strategy, which will allow Bouygues Energies & Services to expand its range of solutions based on green hydrogen to effectively meet the energy challenges of his clients. This offer thus reinforces the positioning of the Energy & Services Pole of Bouygues Construction, whose subsidiary Kraftanlagen has already been positioned for several years on the green hydrogen market in Germany and Switzerland.

” The needs and expectations of our customers are very focused on environmental issues. Green hydrogen will play a key role in the decarbonation process. PowiDian’s recognized know-how in the hydrogen market and its unique platform in Europe for testing and qualifying equipment will be a major asset in our company’s service offering in this emerging market ”, underlines Maxime Mérolle, Director General of the Products and New Technologies Department of Bouygues Energies & Services
