Thus, the port of Cádiz received this Monday the Viking Neptune, a ship that became part of the Viking shipping company’s fleet in November 2022 in a delivery ceremony that took place when the ship was presented at the Fincantieri shipyard in Ancona. , Italy.

The specialized press indicates that although it is identical to Viking’s other oceangoing ships, “the Viking Neptune is equipped with a small hydrogen fuel system , making it the first ship in the cruise industry to test the use of the hydrogen energy for onboard operations. Viking is using the small system as a test to determine how hydrogen fuel could be used on a larger scale in future new construction.
