Construction of a hydrogen filling station is starting on the energy neutral Campus of Century Autogroep on the Bornholmstraat in Groningen. Holthausen Clean Technology and Century Autogroep, two local companies from Groningen, have been working closely together for a number of years to make emission-free mobility possible. The current collaboration includes the conversion of electric Volkswagen delivery vans to hydrogen. At the end of August this year, the entrepreneurs Carl Holthausen and Erik Meems will jointly start building the first public hydrogen filling station with green hydrogen.
Energy Points, part of Holthausen Clean Technology, is building the modern hydrogen filling station with a new design, opposite the Roossien Hoogwerktechniek building on Bornholmstraat. What is unique is that both the production and refueling of green hydrogen are facilitated. Green hydrogen is the most sustainable form of hydrogen and is made with energy from sustainable sources, such as solar and wind energy. The construction and realization of the hydrogen filling station fits in seamlessly with the strategy of Century Autogroep and Holthausen Clean Technology, to make mobility more sustainable and contribute to the energy transition. The hydrogen filling station is expected to be completed in November this year. The public hydrogen filling station will be open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
