Arnhem / DinxperloHyGear, hydrogen technology company in Arnhem, and Rijngas from Dinxperlo recently signed a cooperation contract. This collaboration ensures greater hydrogen production at HyGear in Arnhem. Rhinegas will market the green certified hydrogen produced by HyGear within all kinds of industries for various processes and on any scale.

PRODUCTION GREEN HYDROGEN

HyGear builds and supplies hydrogen technology worldwide and also produces (green) hydrogen in Arnhem. Rijngas sells hydrogen and in this collaboration purchases the green hydrogen produced from HyGear. HyGear will expand the fill site in Arnhem to meet the rapidly increasing demand. With the acquisition of HyGear’s hydrogen tube trailers by Rijngas, Rijngas is now also able to supply even larger volumes, or make them available for storage or testing. Bundles, tube or bottle trailers can also be filled for third parties in Arnhem. HyGear and Rijngas have been working together successfully for some time: this renewed intensification of the collaboration ensures an important development of the hydrogen market.

“The demand for scalable and decentralized hydrogen production is increasing. HyGear develops the latest technologies, supplies the technology, provides green hydrogen production and filling from the production site

in Arnhem and makes hydrogen even more green in combination with the expertise of parent company and sustainable energy technology company HoSt Group.” , says Henk Kleef, CEO of HyGear.

SELL HYDROGEN

For small volumes, Rijngas applies an exchange concept. 300 bar interchangeable tanks with a capacity of 0.55 kg are used. The next step is for Rijngas to supply hydrogen in bottled bundles. These bundles contain 16 bottles of 300 bar, which corresponds to approximately 16 kg of hydrogen. Rijngas has a large fleet of these bundles available, and a good logistics network to provide optimal service. In addition, hydrogen pressure containers can be filled at any location with the ‘Easy Fill’ filling system. This is based on pressure equalization, from hydrogen bundles, without the need for further utilities. For larger volumes, deliveries via tube trailers are possible. For even larger volumes, it is possible to produce hydrogen locally with an on-site HyGear unit.

“It is mainly this flexibility and the possibility of scaling up that is the great added value for the hydrogen market. Not only over a longer period of time, but the combination between HyGear and Rhinegas now makes it immediately possible to supply hydrogen in small to large volumes or to produce it locally.” , says Norbert Romijn, director of Rhinegas.
