2023 Initiative Seeks Mentor-Mentee Pairings to Accelerate Global Hydrogen Progress and Adoption.

The U.S. Department of Energy’s Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technologies Office, in collaboration with the Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM) Clean Hydrogen Initiative, today announced the launch of H2 Twin Cities 2023. H2 Twin Cities is a global initiative that connects cities and communities around the world to collaborate, share ideas, and learn from each other as they deploy clean-hydrogen solutions.

To encourage participation by communities in developing economies, H2 Twin Cities 2023 will focus on pairing Mentor and Mentee cities with significantly different levels of experience and expertise with hydrogen. Mentor-Mentee pairs should be from different countries—and ideally from different continents. Mentor cities will share lessons-learned and best practices with Mentee cities, which will commit to future deployment of hydrogen technologies. H2 Twin Cities seeks pairings that will result in measurable impacts by fostering market adoption, scaling up hydrogen technologies, providing training and outreach resources, and achieving emissions reductions—all while advancing energy and environmental justice and social equity.

The deadline to apply for H2 Twin Cities 2023 is October 19, 2023. Mentor and Mentee cities must self-assemble and submit a joint application. To facilitate pairings, H2 Twin Cities is compiling a teaming partner list, which allows cities and regions to express their interest to potential applicants and to explore potential partnerships.

Learn more, read the guidelines, and apply on the H2 Twin Cities 2023 HeroX website.
