Doosan Fuel Cell and KT Sign Fuel Cell Agreement

On the 14th of April 2020, Doosan Fuel Cell and KT signed a business agreement for ‘Expanding the fuel cell business and developing an artificial intelligence (AI) unmanned driving platform’ at the Novotel Ambassador Hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul.

Through this agreement, the two companies plan to jointly develop ‘Unmanned Driverless Platform for Fuel Cells’ by combining KT’s AI technology with Doosan Fuel Cell’s fuel cells and unmanned fuel cell operation. The intelligent unmanned driving platform is a solution that manages the fuel cell in general, such as unmanned control of fire or intrusion, monitoring of power generation, as well as real-time checking of the fuel cell operation status.

In addition, the two companies are planning to reduce energy costs by installing fuel cells in buildings with high energy use among KT affiliates, and to promote cooperation with the ‘Hydrogen Pilot City’ project.
In December of last year, the government selected three locations: Ulsan Metropolitan City, Ansan-si, Gyeonggi-do, and Jeonju and Wanju-si, Jeollabuk-do, as a hydrogen demonstration city that uses a hydrogen ecosystem and uses hydrogen as the main energy source.

“We look forward to increasing customer satisfaction with power plant maintenance through the development of an intelligent unmanned driving platform for fuel cells,” said Seung-jun Lee, head of Doosan Fuel Cell’s Sales Division. We will work together to revitalize the economy. ”

Fuel cells are high-efficiency power generation systems that produce electricity and heat through the electrochemical reaction of hydrogen and oxygen.
