Energy Observer Concludes East Coast Journey with Final Stop in Boston

Energy Observer, a pioneering vessel in the field of energy transition and a floating ambassador for the Sustainable Development Goals, is docking in Boston from May 1st to May 5th, 2024. This visit represents the vessel’s 89th stop and the last on its United States East Coast Odyssey. After Boston, the vessel will briefly visit Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon before making its grand return to Saint-Malo, France.

The vessel, renowned for its autonomy and zero emissions, utilizes a combination of renewable energy sources, including solar, wind, and hydrogen, to power its operations. As it docks in Boston, a city celebrated for its rich academic and research-oriented environment in energy transition and renewable energies, the crew of Energy Observer will engage with leading institutions. These include the MIT Energy Initiative and the Future Energy Systems Center, among others, to exchange ideas and insights on sustainable energy solutions.
