EUSTREAM Joins International Partnership for the Production and Supply of Green Hydrogen to Austria & Germany

An international partnership of industrial companies has prepared the “H2EU + Store” project in an effort to accelerate and increase the production of green hydrogen in Europe, which is vital for the future supply of climate-neutral energy. Europe GmbH and RAG Austria AG, and EUSTREAM is now joining the initiative.

The initiative focuses on the entire hydrogen supply chain, including the production of pure hydrogen in Ukraine and its transport through the EUSTREAM transit system to Austria and Germany. “H2EU + Store” will create the necessary capacity for renewable electricity and hydrogen production in Ukraine. In addition, storage capacities will be expanded in Austria and Germany and adjustments will be made to hydrogen transport in Central Europe.”The unique geographical location and the parallel system of several pipelines enable Slovakia and EUSTREAM to become important gateways for hydrogen and its transport for key European markets. For this purpose, we plan, among other things, to set aside one of the main transit lines only for the transport of 100% hydrogen, “said Rastislav Ňukovič, Director General of EUSTREAM.
