Governor Andy Beshear has announced plans to bring hydrogen investments and jobs to Kentucky through cooperation with the governors of West Virginia, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.
The partnership is aimed at supporting the Appalachian Regional Clean Hydrogen Hub (ARCH2) and leveraging the region’s resources, including existing pipelines and transportation networks, as well as a skilled energy workforce, to support the development of the hydrogen industry in the region.
Governor Beshear stated that Kentucky’s strong infrastructure and established automotive and logistics sectors make it an ideal location for economic development in the hydrogen industry.
The Appalachian region is rich in resources that can be utilized by ARCH2, including existing pipelines, transportation networks, and a skilled energy workforce. It also has a strong chemical and manufacturing base, making it well-suited for supporting hydrogen production and distribution, as well as hydrogen vehicle infrastructure.
