TORONTO– AmmPower Corp., a Toronto-based clean energy company specializing in the production of green ammonia, has proudly announced its new joint venture agreement with CTEC Energy Sales USA Inc., a private company with established technology that transforms waste into energy. This alliance will foster the development of waste-to-ammonia centres, leveraging the technologies and products of both firms.

Gary Benninger, CEO of AmmPower, expressed his excitement about the partnership with CTEC, highlighting the joint venture’s potential to revolutionise the process of ammonia synthesis. “This new relationship with CTEC allows waste materials to be converted into the hydrogen and electricity required for the ammonia synthesis process. This eliminates the need for an electrolyzer to create the hydrogen, substantially reducing the electrical power required for the entire process,” Benninger remarked.

The venture will equally be owned by CTEC Energy Sales USA Inc. and AmmPower Inc., operated by a dedicated management team. It’s important to note that CTEC’s waste-to-energy technology is already in successful operation at over 25 locations across Europe and the United Kingdom. This technology will be deployed to power AmmPower’s proprietary IAMM™ ammonia synthesis units.

Peter Wild from CTEC underscored the significance of their alliance with AmmPower, stating, “The relationship with AmmPower is an ideal marriage since it provides a mechanism to convert waste materials into a product with value, and does so without the creation of greenhouse gases.”

AmmPower, currently working on the development of unique technologies to produce green ammonia and green hydrogen at scale, aims to reduce costs and capitalize on carbon credits in the renewable energy space. The company holds several Letters of Intent with ports in Brazil and the United States and is in the process of completing its IAMM™ prototype to create green ammonia for the agricultural industry.

AmmPower’s involvement extends beyond green ammonia production to encompass the production of green fertilizers, carbon-free shipping fuel, and the “cracking” of green hydrogen as ammonia. Besides, the company maintains a lithium exploration property in the James Bay/Eeyou Istche region of Quebec and an option on the Titan Property located in the Klotz Lake area in Northwestern Ontario.
