- On 12.03.2021 Horizon Educational issued the last call on its H2GP 2021-2022 season which is the most exciting hydrogen racing season in the world.
The H2GP program enables teams of high school students to work together to assemble fuel cell based remote control race (RC) cars within a structured curriculum. After learning about hydrogen, fuel cells, and the overall racing platform off the track the student teams then need to build the RC cars. Afterwards, teams meet-up, for example in regional semi-finals in California, to see which ones have built the most successful endurance race cars. The top three finalists from each country then get to go to Europe at the end of the season in 2022 to race in the Horizon Grand Prix World Finals!
The H2GP program is the only one of its kind in the world, and it gives students and teachers a world-class curriculum and competition with which to build out a deep knowledge of hydrogen and fuel cells. However, more broadly, H2GP also gives the hydrogen and fuel cell industry a way to develop the beginnings of a workforce that is fully capable of helping to build an effective global hydrogen economy, since the students gain skills that relate to all parts of the hydrogen economy.
With 20 racing kits left and only a few more days to enter the 2021-2022 season now is the time for any high school that is on the sidelines to jump in and join the Hydrogen Era. The entry cost is low but the rewards for schools, teachers, and especially for students are revolutionary!
