Hy Hybrid Energy GOLDI Mobility and PERIC Sign MoU on Hydrogen Refueling Solutions for Hungary

Budapest–Hy-Hybrid Energy (Hy-Hybrid), GOLDI Mobility Kft (GOLDI) and Purification Equipment Research Institute of CSIC, China (PERIC) have signed MoU to explore hydrogen refueling solutions for Hungary.

  • The Parties agree to work exclusively with each other for the purpose of Hydrogen Refueling solutions for the Hungary market.
  • The cooperation is to accelerate the adoption of Hydrogen Refueling solutions for the heavy-duty market, in the EU.
  • The Parties will work to optimize overall system costs, including, the concept of sourcing sub-components through cost-effective routes, e.g. part sourcing from China, part sourcing from the EU, etc.

GOLDI is the first Hungarian manufacturer who has taken the lead to develop the first fuel cell bus in the country. Dr. Naveed Akhtar, CEO, Hy-Hybrid Energy is overseeing the entire project (GOLDiON). While the Hungarian first articulated fuel cell electric bus is under development, GOLDI and Hy-Hybrid exchanged dialogues with PERIC on hydrogen refueling solutions for the GOLDiON project in the model of a strategic collaboration between the three companies.

PERIC, which belongs to China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited, was founded in 1966. It is located in Handan City, Hebei Province, China and covers an area of around 900,000 square meters. It is a state-level R&D institute that is mainly engaged in R&D design and manufacture, technical service, etc. PERIC is the lead designer and manufacturer for hydrogen/oxygen generation technology by water electrolysis, the H2 capacity ranges from 0.5 Nm3/hr to 1000 Nm3/hr for alkaline-type single electrolyser with operational pressure up to 2.0 MPa (g), and from 0.0001 Nm3/hr to 50 Nm3/hr for PEM-type single electrolyser with operational pressure up to 3.0 MPa (g), purity of H2 gas reaches to 99.999%. PERIC also supply hydrogen/oxygen purification unit from 5 Nm3/hr to 4000 Nm3/hr.

Dr. Naveed Akhtar, CEO, Hy-Hybrid Energy brings nearly two decades of experience in hydrogen and fuel cells. Dr. Akhtar says: “While we are moving forward in our first fuel cell bus development project for Hungary, it is the right time to start planning for refueling our buses. We believe this cooperation will become successful as we move forward.”
