Nucera, a subsidiary of thyssenkrupp specializing in hydrogen technologies, saw its sales nearly double, fueled by major projects, including a significant one in Saudi Arabia.
Between April and June, Nucera’s revenues shot up from €98.7 million in the previous year to an astonishing €187.5 million. The company’s order inflow also rose 13 percent, hitting €242.4 million for the same quarter. This robust growth is largely attributed to a surging demand for traditional chlor-alkali electrolysis systems, underscoring the enormous potential of the hydrogen sector.
Committed to eco-friendly initiatives, Nucera has identified huge growth opportunities in the arena of carbon-neutral hydrogen production. Utilizing water electrolysis powered by clean energy sources like wind and solar, the company is producing what is popularly known as “green hydrogen,” making substantial strides toward a more sustainable future.
Adding weight to Nucera’s growth story is its extension into high-profile international projects, a prime example being a hydrogen plant in Saudi Arabia. The Saudi sovereign wealth fund holds a significant share in the venture, signaling Nucera’s expanding global reach. Sales forecasts for the current fiscal year indicate that this growth trajectory is set to continue.
Though investment in expanding its hydrogen electrolysis operations has squeezed the EBIT margin, Nucera’s profitability outlook remains positive.
