Hyzon Motors Australia is Born

Recently Hyzon Motors announced that it will be setting up a division of the company in Australia.

Hyzon will initially set up technical support and project management capabilities in Australia, serving the Aust / NZ markets. Decarbonisation of commercial transport with hydrogen fuel cell vehicles commences in early 2021.

Hyzon said “We are also considering the options for locating our first fuel cell commercial vehicle integration facility in Australia.”

Fuel cell trucks and buses will be assembled in Australia by Hyzon, working with strategic partners. Target startup 2022 at the latest.

Green hydrogen investment plans for Australia are a lot more viable supplying into the local heavy vehicle market, as diesel displacement is a much higher value use for hydrogen than bulk export.

Governments and major corporations need to solidify plans to transition off diesel. It’s a match made in hydrogen heaven.

On March 16th 2020 Hyzon announced that it would be the First USA-based Manufacturer of High Power PEM Fuel Cell Modules for Commercial Vehicles will be in Series Production in 2020.

Hyzon Motors will be one of the first Hydrogen Fuel Cell heavy vehicle companies in series production, with integration work to start in the USA facility from mid-2020. Hyzon will immediately offer Trucks from 15 to 40 tonnes in gross vehicle weight, powered by Horizon’s high-performance PEM Fuel Cells.
