Pioneering Green Hydrogen
H2Energy, in collaboration with FNM (Ferrovie Nord Milano) and Alstom, is revolutionizing the green hydrogen landscape in Lombardy. The partnership is set to create the first hydrogen-based railway ecosystem in Italy.
Laying the Foundation for a Green Future
The initiative involves the conversion of the railway line Brescia-Iseo-Edolo, operated by Trenord, into a hydrogen-powered rail. This also includes the construction of a green hydrogen production plant. The plant will use renewable energy sources to produce hydrogen, which will be used to fuel the new Coradia iLint trains supplied by Alstom.
Empowering Sustainability through Innovation
The project marks a significant milestone in reducing CO2 emissions and promoting sustainability. By producing green hydrogen using renewable energy sources, H2Energy, FNM, and Alstom are paving the way for a greener, more sustainable future. The railway line will be the first of its kind in Italy, taking the country a step closer towards achieving its environmental goals.
Collaborative Efforts Fueling Green Transition
H2Energy, a Swiss company specializing in renewable energy and hydrogen solutions, is leading the project. FNM, Lombardy’s leading transport and mobility group, and Alstom, a global leader in sustainable mobility, are playing vital roles in transforming the railway line and equipping it with hydrogen-powered trains.
