ITM Launches NEPTUNE
  • ITM Power has launched the NEPTUNE V, a 5MW containerized PEM electrolyser, priced at GBP 4,350,000, designed to meet the high demand in mid-size green hydrogen projects.
  • The plant, boasting a small footprint and high efficiency, is ideal for projects up to 60MW and offers low technology risk with its proven TRIDENT stack technology.

ITM Power, a leading UK-based energy solutions provider, has announced the launch of its latest innovation, the NEPTUNE V, a 5MW containerized PEM electrolyser. Priced competitively at GBP 4,350,000 ($5.4 million), this new offering is engineered to deliver reliable and highly efficient hydrogen production.

Designed against rigorous safety and quality standards, and leveraging insights from its globally deployed electrolysers, NEPTUNE V is set to redefine benchmarks within the industry. It promises the smallest footprint per megawatt currently available, making it an ideal choice for space-conscious mid-size green hydrogen projects.

Dennis Schulz, CEO of ITM Power, expressed confidence in the strong market demand for the NEPTUNE V, noting ongoing discussions with a diverse range of potential customers. The electrolyser’s pricing and operational capabilities are expected to make it a cornerstone for projects scaling up to 60MW.

Tim Calver, Vice-President Commercial at ITM Power, emphasized the electrolyser’s low technology risk, facilitated by the proven TRIDENT stack technology. This feature, along with the plant’s ability to operate at as low as 12.5% of nominal load, allows it to adapt flexibly to the variable nature of renewable energy sources, enhancing its appeal to a broad spectrum of energy projects.
