KEPCO and Ulsan Sign MOU to Cooperate on Hydrogen

On April 17th KEPCO signed an MOU with Ulsan City Hall, Ulsan Techno Park, UNIST, Siemens Co., Ltd., and another 8 organizations and companies.

The agreement aims are for the partners to cooperate with P2G (Power-to-Gas) -based on KEPCO’s microgrid and demonstration project for smart building construction.

The “P2G-based KEPCO Micro Grid Demonstration Project” aim is to produce hydrogen, and to use the generated hydrogen as hydrogen fuel, or to supply energy in the form of electricity and heat to surrounding buildings and apartments through the use of fuel cells.

At the signing ceremony of the MOU, Kim Jong-Kap Kang said, “Through this demonstration project, KEPCO will contribute to the achievement of the government’s vision of revitalizing the hydrogen economy,” leading the world’s best hydrogen economy. “Also, It will be a cornerstone in the implementation of the hydrogen society. ”
