
Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP) held a ceremony on July 2nd to celebrate the completion of Incheon Fuel Cell Co., Ltd., a subsidiary located in Dong-gu, Incheon.
The Incheon Fuel Cell Power Plant is a 39.6 MW power plant worth 254.3 billion won as part of a city-oriented expansion of eco-friendly energy sources. It will produce 320 million kWh of electricity with 90 fuel cells of Doosan Fuel Cell’s 440kW capability, which can be used by at least 110,000 households in Dong-gu, Incheon, and Michuhol-gu. A total of 26 thousand households in Dong-gu could access 164,000 Gcal of heat.
“Countries around the world are moving forward to take the lead in the hydrogen society, and an important axis is the hydrogen fuel cell power plant,” KHNP President Jeong Jae-hoon said. “KHNP is Korea’s largest hydrogen fuel cell power generation business experience and development of various convergence business models. Based on our experience, we will take the lead in the Green New Deal policy and do our best to realize energy welfare in the local community.”
