SK E&S signed an MOU for the creation of a liquefied hydrogen ecosystem with the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the Ministry of Science and ICT, the Ministry of Environment, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, Hyosung, Haichangwon, and Hyundai Motor Company on November 9 (Wednesday) at Lotte Hotel Seoul.

What is liquid hydrogen?

This business agreement, signed as a pre-event of the ‘5th Hydrogen Economy Committee’, is to create a hydrogen industry ecosystem so that liquid hydrogen can be smoothly produced, distributed, and used in Korea from 2023, and to work together to spread the supply of hydrogen commercial vehicles . content.

Currently, SK E&S is building a plant capable of producing up to 30,000 tons of liquid hydrogen per year in Incheon, and production is expected to begin in earnest from the second half of next year.

The produced liquefied hydrogen will be supplied through hydrogen charging stations across the country. SK E&S is also building about 40 liquefied hydrogen charging stations near customers such as bus depots through SK Plug High Bus, jointly established with US Plug Power.
