The Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI) is promoting the purchase of fuel cell cars with another call under the National Innovation Program Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology (NIP 2).

A total of up to 5 million euros are available for funding in this call. Applications must be submitted by 31.01.2020.

Fuel cell vehicles that are used as passenger cars in vehicle fleets are subsidized. Prerequisite for the promotion is the purchase of at least three vehicles per application. The minimum number can be achieved through the formation of a regional procurement network.

The focus of the current call is the promotion of fuel cell vehicles in fleets. As a result, only the procurement of new vehicles can be promoted. The promotion of leased vehicles is excluded. Vehicles must be purchased within the approval period of two years. The subsidized vehicles must run for at least two years in the recipient’s fleet.

The promotion call is now available here on the NOW homepage.

Applications can be submitted via the easy-Online Portal .
