Fuel Cells Works, Plagazi Thrilled to Appoint Dr. Soran Shwan as Chief Technology Officer (Cto)

As Plagazi builds on its recent momentum after closing a 53 MSEK financing round (“Series A”), the addition of Dr. Soran Shwan as new Chief Technology Officer will ensure the further progress of Plagazi’s unique position in the hydrogen market and maximize the potential of the Plagazi process.

Soran joins Plagazi from the position of Manager & Product Owner of Battery Cell Technology at Volvo Group, based in Gothenburg, Sweden. There, his main responsibilities included the development of battery cells for current and future electric transport solutions. Furthermore, he also held the position of Manager & Product Owner of Catalysts & Filters, which will prove very valuable for the development of the Plagazi process. For both roles, Soran was responsible for leading different teams of up to 20 people over his last 4 years at Volvo.

Before joining Volvo Group, he completed his PhD in Chemical Engineering, specializing in Catalysis at Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, where he spent 4 months as a postdoctoral researcher. He has also completed a MSc in Industrial Economics and Management (MBA) and has additional previous experience working in Haldor Topsoe.

Effective as of March 2023 at Plagazi, Soran’s responsibilities will include assuming ownership of the patented Plagazi process, as well as acting as the head of Plagazi’s newly obtained Gothenburg office.

“We are extremely enthusiastic about Soran assuming the CTO position at Plagazi. Having someone with his extensive credentials and experience joining our team will provide invaluable expertise and ensure that the development of our unique process progresses in the right way and in the right direction. We very much look forward to Soran’s addition to our engineering team in Gothenburg and Plagazi as a whole.” – Torsten Granberg, CEO Plagazi.
