Pure Hydrogen Leases a 4,000m² Site in Queensland for Its First Demonstration Hydrogen Micro-Hub

Sydney– Australian clean energy company Pure Hydrogen Corporation Limited (ASX: ‘PH2’ or ‘Pure Hydrogen’) is pleased to confirm that it has signed a lease on a 4,000m² commercial site at Archerfield Airport, located approximately 11 km from the Brisbane CBD with the site being secured for the production and supply of green hydrogen to vehicle and aviation customers. This is the Company’s first step in developing a number of ‘CAPEX light’ micro-hubs that can produce green hydrogen using green electricity sourced from the grid. Pure Hydrogen has already placed an order for a state-of-the-art electrolyser which will be combined with compression and storage facilities to manufacture and sell green hydrogen.

The location of this and future micro-hubs is determined by their proximity to commercial vehicle customer depots and operating routes to ensure timely, convenient, and cost-effective H2 refueling and distribution. The Archerfield site was also selected due to the fact that Pure Hydrogen intends to supply green hydrogen to commercial drone companies operating at the airport which are considering using green hydrogen to power their drones. Archerfield is also strategically located near major trucking and waste depots.

 

Pure Hydrogen Corporation Limited will be undertaking a staged development of the Archerfield site with Stage 1, located on 1,000m² of the site, capable of producing approximately 420 KG of green hydrogen per day. Operations will be scaled up with additional electrolysers added as H2 demand grows. CAPEX will be minimized with the Company making use of existing structures and infrastructure. The equipment for the micro-hub including the electrolyser are housed in shipping containers to be installed on any hard stand site. It is expected that the Archerfield Micro-Hub will be operational in Q4 CY2024, subject to approvals. Pure Hydrogen expects to spend about $880,000 on its electrolyser.

Pure Hydrogen Managing Director, Scott Brown, commented: “As we communicated in late 2023, Pure is committed to developing a number of low-cost micro-hubs to produce green hydrogen for the commercial transport sector, and Archerfield marks the first step in this regard. As well as securing strategic sites, Pure can readily source proven, turnkey hydrogen fuel manufacturing equipment and technology that can be deployed across multiple sites and easily connected to green electricity sources.”

Archerfield will be Pure’s Demonstration H2 Micro-Hub and the template for planned future plants. The first electrolyser is on order. Pure plans to use strategically located hydrogen micro-hubs that are close to customers and will assist in creating the ‘hydrogen highway’ as a domestic source of clean H2 fuel. Pure intends to seek hybrid funding and strategic partners to help build the national domestic H2 infrastructure.
