Pure Hydrogen’s majority owned HDrive International secures order to supply two BEV mini-buses in a deal valued at over $700,000.

  • The two 18-seat low floor mini-buses will be delivered to Sapphire Coast Buslines in New South Wales during the first quarter of 2024
  • The order is the first of its type for HDrive International which recently delivered the Taurus Prime Mover to Australia ahead of its trial with PepsiCo
  • Pure Hydrogen continues to see strong interest in its range of hydrogen electric fuel cell trucks and buses

Sydney– Australian clean energy company Pure Hydrogen Corporation Limited (ASX: PH2 or ‘Pure Hydrogen’) is pleased to announce that its HDrive International subsidiary (‘HDrive’), for which it has a 60% equity interest, has secured an executed sales agreement for the supply of two electric mini-buses valued at over $700,000 (‘the order’). The order, from Sapphire Coast Buslines in New South Wales, will see HDrive supply two battery electric (‘BEV’) 18-seat low floor mini-buses. The contract has been executed on a cash basis, with the buses expected to be delivered during the first quarter of 2024.

The zero emissions mini-buses to be supplied by HDrive have a range of 325km powered by a 31kWh CATL battery. Configured to carry 18 passengers, they feature a low floor design improving accessibility and efficiencies including reduced stop times.

Pure Hydrogen is in the final stages of delivering Australia’s first hydrogen fuel cell prime mover and refuse collection vehicle to JJ Richards Waste, expected to be trialled from late 2023. A second refuse collection vehicle trial is slated to commence in early 2024 with Solo Resource Recovery, subject to successful trial periods, Pure Hydrogen’s customers may exercise options for additional vehicles, with over 100 options already in place (refer ASX Announcement 10 August 2023).

Pure Hydrogen Managing Director Scott Brown said: “We’re very pleased to be delivering our first electric zeroemissions mini-buses in New South Wales in early 2024. The fast charging electric together with the low floor design is a compelling option for transit companies seeking to both improve their green credentials and lower their operating costs. Similar to other battery electric options currently used by countries leading the transition to clean fleets, they feature lower noise and less vibration compared to their diesel counterparts making them better for communities.”

“We are investigating using hydrogen generators and electric charging equipment to supply customers so they can be truly zero emissions and not rely on grid power. With strong interest in our range of buses and trucks, Pure Hydrogen is taking steps to ensure we can deliver compelling whole-of-asset-life solutions including procurement of high-quality assets, competitive rental terms, long-term supply of clean hydrogen fuel, maintenance services, and end of life re-fit services.”

“We congratulate Sapphire Coast Buslines on their commitment to clean transport and embracing the efficiencies battery electric technology delivers. Sapphire Coast Buslines has elected to purchase the buses outright. As the Company announced on the 31 August 2023, we have signed a term sheet and it’s in the process of establishing a $125 million asset financing facility that will potentially allow future customers the option to rent rather than buy green vehicles.”

“This order represents the efforts Pure Hydrogen has made towards accelerating its go-to-market strategy, supplying high-quality BEV and hydrogen fuelled buses and trucks to the Australian market. We look forward to reporting additional commercial agreements as companies commit to orders in an effort to meet their emissions targets.”
