HYVIA: THE NEW PATH TO GREEN HYDROGEN MOBILITY

  • HY” for hydrogen, “VIA” for road: HYVIA opens a new path towards carbon-free mobility, by offering a complete and unique ecosystem.
  • The green hydrogen produced by the electrolysis of water allows mobility with zero CO2 emissions in use *, increased autonomy and a recharge time of a few minutes.
  • HYVIA will offer the production, storage and distribution of green hydrogen with, in particular, hydrogen charging stations by the end of 2021, as close as possible to the needs of its customers.
  • HYVIA will offer a wide variety of fuel cell light commercial vehicles by the end of 2021:
    • Master Van H2-TECH: a large van for transporting goods, with 12 m 3 of usable volume and a range of up to 500 km.
    • Master Chassis Cab H2-TECH: a large van for transporting larger goods, with 19 m 3 of usable volume and a range of around 250 km.
    • Master Citybus H2-TECH: an urban minibus for the transport of 15 people, with a range of approximately 300 km.
  • This entire ecosystem will be accompanied by financing and maintenance services.
  • Relying on the strengths and skills of two leaders, Renault Group and Plug Power, HYVIA has four sites in France and will assemble fuel cells and hydrogen charging stations in the plant by the end of 2021. Flins. Its offer will be offered throughout Europe.

To meet the challenges of hydrogen mobility, the aim is to offer fuel cell vehicles for all intense uses, but also to take into account the entire ecosystem. HYVIA offers turnkey mobility solutions with the production, storage, distribution of green hydrogen and a wide variety of utility vehicles. Solutions that meet the new needs of companies, key accounts, fleets or communities to join together towards the energy transition.

David Holderbach, President of HYVIA

Production, storage and distribution of green hydrogen

HYVIA relies on the expertise of Plug Power, one of the world leaders in hydrogen solutions, which has more than 20 years of experience in electrolysers and has already deployed a network of more than 100 stations which distribute more than 40 tonnes of hydrogen per day.

HYVIA will offer electrolysers, mobile storage stations and, from the end of 2021, hydrogen charging stations, assembled in Flins, France. Whether rented or purchased, these hydrogen charging stations guarantee ease of use and safety.

Wide variety of light commercial vehicles powered by hydrogen, equipped with fuel cells

HYVIA relies on the expertise of Renault Group, leader in electric utility vehicles in Europe with a 40% market share and pioneer of hydrogen utility vehicles on the road since 2014.

HYVIA will offer by the end of the year a range of three fuel cell utility vehicles , a complementary offer to electric utility vehicles.
Master Van H2-TECH is a large van aimed at professionals for the transport of goods, with a range of up to 500 km and a loading volume of 12 m 3 .
Master Chassis Cab H2-TECH is a large van that will offer even more cargo space with 19 m 3 and a range of 250 km.
Master Citybus H2-TECH is an urban minibus that meets the needs of companies or communities for the transport of people up to 15 passengers, with a range of approximately 300 km.

These vehicles are designed on a “Dual power” architecture  : dual energy, electric and hydrogen. A range of up to 500 km: 100 km of range obtained on electric energy, the rest thanks to hydrogen energy.
The vehicles are all equipped with a 33 kWh battery, a 30 kW fuel cell and tanks containing between 3 and 7 kg of hydrogen, depending on the version.

Financing and maintenance services

To meet the needs of its customers, HYVIA will support this entire offer through financing services (such as the leasing of hydrogen charging stations or vehicles) or maintenance within the Renault network, one of the most present through all of Europe.

An ecosystem based in France

HYVIA continues to locate its ecosystem in France:

  • Villiers Saint-Frédéric – Headquarters and R&D: a dedicated team has initiated the studies necessary for a large-scale integration of the fuel cell into vehicles, at the heart of Renault’s engineering and development center for commercial vehicles Group.
  • Flins – Process, manufacturing and logistics: work and studies for the assembly of the fuel cell and hydrogen charging stations are accelerating for commercialization at the end of 2021.
  • Batilly – Renault Master production: the Renault Group plant in Batilly produces Master for HYVIA.
  • Gretz Amainvilliers – PVI (Renault Vehicle Innovation): this subsidiary of Renault Group since 2017, continues the electrification of Masters and strengthens its skills for the integration of the fuel cell. PVI also produces 27 tonne hydrogen trucks.
