SK Engineering & Construction (SK E&C) to Supply Bloom Fuel Cell Power Plants to Seoul, South Korea

  • It is expected that Bloom Energy's fuel cell power plants will at the end of 2019, provide a total power generation of 16.15MW in South Korea.

In January of 2018 Bloom Energy and SK E&C announced that they would be supplying a fuel cell power plant to the Bundang Power Plant project. The capacity of the Bloom Energy Server would be 8.350kW.

According to news reports out of South Korea, Now, SK E & C plans to supply 900 kW (300 kW x 3 units) of Bloom power generation facilities to KT Research Center in Woomyeon and to KT Daedeok Research Center (Daejeon). The total fuel cell constuction project will total 6 MW (300㎾ × 20 units).

Timetable for these fuel power plants:

KT Research Center in Woomyeon and to KT Daedeok Research Center (Daejeon) should receive the Bloom fuel cell power plants in March-April of 2019 with the first testing of the plants to be done in July 2019.

Also, SK E & C was a awarded another fuel cell power plant construction for the Seoul Central Combined Cycle Power Plant, is expected to be completed by December of 2019 and will generate and supply 50 million kWh of electricity annually.
