AGROLA starts to build its first hydrogen filling station with green hydrogen in Zofingen (AG).
Hydrogen mobility offers all the prerequisites for sustainably reducing CO 2 emissions and supporting the energy transition. Hydrogen from renewable energy contributes to the decarbonisation of transport. More hydrogen filling stations will follow.
On 2 September 2019, the groundbreaking ceremony for the first AGROLA hydrogen filling station took place in Zofingen. AGROLA complements its offer of mobility from renewable energy sources without CO 2 by building its first hydrogen filling station.
Petrol stations are becoming increasingly important in terms of the use and distribution of renewable energy in mobility. They are the relevant link in the supply chain, so that mobility from renewable energies, such as green hydrogen, can be implemented nationwide. By building additional hydrogen filling stations, AGROLA intends to actively contribute to the supply security of hydrogen vehicles in the medium to long term. The opening of the first AGROLA hydrogen filling station is scheduled for spring 2020. “AGROLA’s tried-and-tested, nationwide service station network in rural areas will be supplemented by hydrogen as an energy storage system so that electrically powered fuel cell vehicles can be supplied in the future,” says Daniel Bischof, CEO of AGROLA AG.
Mobility on the basis of sustainably produced, green hydrogen brings only advantages. It helps to achieve the climate targets in road traffic and contributes to the implementation of the federal government’s 2050 energy strategy. AGROLA focuses on both forms of electric drive: electric mobility from solar energy and green hydrogen mobility. In electromobility, the power from the battery is used to drive an electric motor. But it is also different, by green hydrogen fueled and this is converted by a fuel cell into electricity and drives the electric motor in this way. Both forms of electromobility do not produce harmful emissions.
