The European Commission opens the Horizon Europe’s Call “Energy Sector Integration: Integrating and combining energy systems to a cost-optimised and flexible energy system of systems” which seeks to demonstrate the benefits of sectoral integration in different geographic, climate and economic conditions.

In this sense, the nominated projects should demonstrate the benefits of the integration of different elements, considering particularly, electricity and gas networks, district heating and cooling, and long-term energy storage systems (for example Hydrogen, power-to-X, thermal storage, hydro-storage). It can also include mobility systems (e.g. e-mobility infrastructure) and energy-intensive industry and/or industrial clusters or sites.

With an estimated budget of € 30 million, the call is looking for developing up to 3 pilots in different Member States/Associated Countries that could demonstrate system integration based on management of various networks and infrastructures at national and local scale, considering the functional interaction between them.

Understanding the great importance of this financial opportunities, and due to our previous successful experiences with EU funded projects, in Hinicio we have developed Hi-GRANT, a proposal and project development service for applying to a specific EU subsidy of your choice.
