Toyota Motor Corporation revealed in a press briefing that it aims to supply 100,000 hydrogen-powered fuel cell systems annually by 2030. The company expects a rapid expansion of the fuel cell market in Europe, the U.S., and China, given the increasing demand for decarbonized energy sources.
Executive Vice President of Toyota Motor Corp., Hiroki Nakajima, expressed that as the hydrogen market continues to grow, predominantly in Europe, the U.S., and China, the company is targeting the incorporation of their fuel cell systems into commercial vehicles, such as trucks.

Compared to electric vehicles (EVs), fuel cell vehicles (FCVs) are considered more suitable for long-distance commercial applications. To tap into this potential demand, Toyota plans to collaborate with overseas automakers.
The press briefing, which featured Vice President Nakajima, was mainly focused on discussing the business feasibility of hydrogen.
