In a recent post on Twitter by the VW CEO, he criticized hydrogen fuel cell cars and Cameron Glickenhaus has challenged VW to a race in the upcoming Baja 1000

He wrote.

“The hydrogen car is proven NOT the air conditioning solution. Electrification has established itself in traffic. Sham debates are a waste of time. Please listen to the science!”

To which, Cameron Glickenhaus responded.
Hello Herbert Diess. We welcome a difference of opinion. If you think the debate is closed race your ID4, which just completed NORRA 1000 against us in the Baja 1000 in 2022 in the zero-emissions class. We will bring a hydrogen fuel cell vehicle with no batteries.

This is not the first time Cameron Glickenhaus has thrown down the gauntlet, he also challenged Elon Musk but Elon did not respond.

Glickenhaus also announced that it plans to enter the Baja 1000, 2022 race using a hydrogen fuel-powered version of its SCG Boot. No electric contender has finished the Baja 1000.

The entire fuel cell and hydrogen industry is rooting for Glickenhaus!
