Emission-free on the road: As a hydrogen manufacturer and petrol station operator, the Westfalen Group, Münster, welcomes the ongoing efforts of the Federal Government for a National Hydrogen Strategy (NWS).
“We need forward-looking framework conditions for the success of hydrogen mobility,” emphasizes CEO Dr. Thomas Perkmann. “We know from numerous discussions with business and politics that the Münsterland region is particularly committed to developing this climate-friendly drive energy. As the Westphalia Group, we want to actively help shape this role of the pioneer region. ”
Among other things, the Westphalia Group is a member of the Clean Energy Partnership, which is committed to environmentally friendly mobility throughout Germany. Westphalia has been operating one of the first hydrogen filling stations in North Rhine-Westphalia in Münster-Amelsbüren since 2016.
In addition, Westphalia offers a hydrogen vehicle for rent with the CarSharing Münster GmbH district car. Westfalen employees use a Mercedes GLC F-Cell from their own vehicle pool to drive to appointments in a climate-neutral manner. “In our view, converting fleets to hydrogen is a first important step on the path to climate neutrality,” says Perkmann. “We will continue to campaign for a hydrogen region Münsterland in exchange with political representatives and other industrial companies in the region.”
The Westfalen Group operates as a technology company in the energy industry with a total of 23 subsidiaries and associated companies in Germany, Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Switzerland, and the Czech Republic.
