Women in Green Hydrogen Hosts its First Networking Event
BERLIN–Women in Green Hydrogen hosted their first Networking Event.

The online event, moderated by Kathrin Goldammer (Managing Director at Reiner Lemoine Institute) was very well received by the green hydrogen sector, attracting more than 100 participants from all over the world. After a brief introduction of WiGH’s activities from Charlotte Hussy (GIZ Advisor), Vaitea Cowan (Enapter Co-founder) conducted a series of inspiring interviews with Wilkista Akinyi (Renewable Energy Specialist at GIZ Kenya), Priya Chhiba (Engineering Manager at Enercon Services), Francesca Paludetti (Head of Mergers and Acquisitions and Sustainable Development at Sapio Group), touching on topics ranging from the green hydrogen economy to female leadership.

The participants were then split into breakout rooms to allow for personal networking, where they had the opportunity to meet and share their experiences of women professionals in the sector. The feedback the WiGH team received was overwhelming enthusiasm, with many participants looking forward to future collaboration and connections. Many women found it “exciting to see how many women are active in this field” and felt “inspired by the amazing professionals” they met.

This event marked a turning point for the green hydrogen world, an emerging sector that is in great need of diversity to grow and evolve: women will play a big role in it!

Special thanks go to our amazing event organizer Julia Epp as well as Carolynn Jaworska, Kathrin Goldammer, Vaitea Cowan, Brittany Westlake and Charlotte Hussy from the WiGH team, who allowed for all this to happen!
