Our unique patent protected fuel cell is manufacturable at scale at any printed circuit board (PCB) factory worldwide, and represents the only low cost, adaptable, recyclable, rapidly rechargeable and high-power density electrification solution.
Having disrupted the antiquated world of fuel cell technology, we’re happy to announce that we’re doing it again. But this time we’re coming after the world of green hydrogen production from water electrolysis.
Hydrogen infrastructure is a long-standing point of contention in the pathway to achieving a Net Zero economy. And it should be. In the UK we only have 9 hydrogen refuelling stations (of which 3 are currently down, at the time of writing, and sadly this is not an uncommon occurrence) and manufacturers like Toyota and Hyundai are hesitant to supply vehicles without concrete improved infrastructure. However, if we look to the leaders in hydrogen infrastructure such as Germany, California and Japan, they are very comfortably served with their vehicles and infrastructure set up.
So the question is why are we and so many other countries so far behind? Is it government incentives or strategies to truly aim for a net zero economy? Partly. But, what about the technology?
Incumbent electrolyser technologies are large, expensive and complicated installations. And on top of that they are highly unreliable. The underlying issue is that these often MW installations are connected as large stacks, that means its either all on or all off. The issue with this type of technology is that these units take a long time to start up and shut down only to be run for short periods per day (to service current demand); this causes additional stresses on an already fragile technology. Once part of the unit fails, the whole unit goes down, the entire station goes down and requires lengthy repair times and periods of downtime to customers
But if we could construct electrolyser units with genuine modularity, we would be able to solve some of these problems. If we could simplify their construction, installation and communication we’d solve a few more of these problems. And finally, if we could solve the problem of complexity of manufacturing, material choices and CAPEX investment we’d solve all of the problems.
At Bramble Energy we’ve solved these problems before. It’s what makes our fuel cell technology the lowest cost pathway to empowering the hydrogen economy! Now, it’s time we solve the hydrogen economy problems.
Bramble Energy has recently embarked on a mission to solve this issue. And in very quick time, we have applied our novel manufacturing routes and techniques that we have developed in the manufacturing of the PCBFC™ and applied them to electrolysers.
We call it the PCBEL™.
Bramble Energy are now making modular electrolysers for the production of clean, green hydrogen. Our solution focusses on two key pillars, making our hydrogen production reliable and affordable; with this we intend to empower the global uptake of the hydrogen economy and ultimately an energy secure world dominated by truly renewable energy regardless of geographical constraint.
We have moved out of the proof of concept phase and we are now entering into full product development.
