Recently, witnessed by the Chinese President and the French President, Sinopec Group and the French Air Liquide Group signed a memorandum of cooperation at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.

The meeting was also to discuss strengthening cooperation in the hydrogen energy field and unveiling a new chapter in Sino-French clean energy cooperation.

In the press conference of the State Council Information Office in April this year, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology also indicated that it will vigorously promote the innovative development of China’s hydrogen energy and fuel cell vehicle industry. Fuel cell vehicles and pure electric vehicles using lithium batteries will jointly promote the development of China’s new energy automobile industry.

As the pioneer of China’s new energy automobile industry, Zotye Motor has focused on the development of core technologies for battery, electric motors, and electronic control. At the same time as early 2016, it began its entry into the hydrogen fuel cell passenger car market, which will use hydrogen as fuel. Zotye plans to invest 500 million R&D hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.

Recently, at the French Air Liquide Headquarters in Paris, France, Mr. Jin Zheyong, Chairman of Zotye Motors and Mr. Benoit Hilbert, President of Air Liquide Technology Innovation Center, Dr. Ma Deren, Vice President of Zhongtai Automobile and General Manager of New Energy Vehicles, and Air Liquid Accompanied by Mr. Philippe Fraysse, General Manager of the Air Liquide Technology Innovation Center, officially signed a cooperation agreement to jointly develop a metal bipolar fuel cell stack and apply it to Zotye models.

After three years of continuous efforts to increase the investment in hydrogen fuel cell technology research and development, Zhongtai Auto has completed the design of the hydrogen fuel cell metal plate reactor jointly developed by Zotye Automobile and Air Liquide in August 2019, according to the current verification test results. The whole stack performance is expected to reach or exceed 3.5KW/L.

Zotye Motors also launched the first E200FCV car with a hydrogen fuel cell mass production at this year’s Shanghai Auto Show and plans are for this model to go on sale next year.
