EH Group Expands its Operations in California

EH Group expands its activities to the USA, with the establishment of EH Group Technologies Inc, based in California. It has been selected as part of this year’s CALSEED cohort, with a grant of $150,000.

EH Group is working on applying its innovative fuel cell technology and production process to electrolysers. With market leading power density at a much lower capex, it aims to replicate those competitive advantages to the electrolyser market at time when it is accelerating rapidly.

EH Group Technologies Inc will develop an electrolyser system based on a radical new design and with a transformative manufacturing technique that dramatically reduces costs. The goal is to test an innovative electrolyser concept for the cheap production of green (CO2 free) hydrogen for a decarbonized future. It will also provide a platform from which to better serve EH Group’s North American clients who are keen to adopt cost-effective and high-performance fuel cell solutions.

“California is an acknowledged leader in the development of clean hydrogen solutions in the United States. EH Group views it as a key market for our hydrogen technologies, both with our core fuel cell systems and strong potential for electrolysers too. Whilst the challenge remains of replicating the breakthrough we have achieved on our fuel cell stacks to electrolysers, we are grateful to CALSEED for providing the opportunity to accelerate its development.”, says Christopher Brandon, co-founder of EH Group.

CalSEED is an initiative made possible by the California Energy Commission. The CalSEED initiative will provide $24 million in grants over five years to support innovators working on early-stage clean energy concepts. CalSEED is administered by New Energy Nexus.
EH Group – Founded in 2017 in Lausanne, Switzerland. It is primarily focused on the design and production of its innovative fuel cell technology, across both stationary and mobile applications. It aims to deliver cost-effective fuel cell solutions, particularly where high-power density performance is required. In addition, EH Group provides engineering services relating to the deployment of its fuel cells systems across hydrogen mobility and stationary projects.
