If you haven’t heard about HV Systems hydrogen electric trucks, then it’s about time you did.

Here’s what you need to know. :

Headquartered in Glasgow, Scotland, HV Systems designs and manufactures electric vans and heavy goods vehicles for the transportation industry across the world (Europe). They’re revolutionizing the way goods and services are transported.

By using current leading edge technology, HV Systems is ahead of its competitors when it comes to low maintenance costs and aerodynamic designs with advanced safety features as part of their standards.

All their commercial vehicles are hydrogen-electric and use zero emissions in order to remove any environmental impact. At the moment,  HV Systems is working on 2 commercial prototype vehicles that will have a huge impact in the transportation industry.

The H2 Van is 100% Hydrogen Electric

  • Can hold 3-8 tonnes of goods
  • Manufactured in short, medium and long wheel bases to accommodate every businesses needs
  • Advanced standard safety features
  • Extremely reliable and efficient

The H2 Van’s aerodynamic shape allows for increased fuel efficiency which means longer hauls in a shorter period of time. In short, this means savings for your company.

The other prototype that HV Systems is working on is their HV Truck. This zero emissions hauling vehicle was built to outlast and go the distance. It’s rugged frame can withstand life on the road and heavier loads than the H2 Van.  The load range is between 7.5-44+ tonnes.

Features of the HV Truck:

  • An aerodynamic exterior
  • Advanced standard safety features
  • Up to 800 miles on one tank before refuelling
  • Only takes 10 minutes to refuel
  • Regenerative state of the art braking system
  • Fast acceleration, no lagging
  • Extremely reliable and efficient

Both prototypes were built using  fuel cell technology. The only emission is water that converts into electricity in order for the trucks to run as long as there’s an ongoing supply of  hydrogen and oxygen. This technology is fairly new but definitely the present and future of cars and trucks. It’s safe for the environment and in the long run, costs less than putting gas in your car. You won’t need any tune ups either! Going to the gas station or running out of gas will be a thing of the past.

Refueling

You might be wondering how and where do I refuel my hydrogen electric vehicle?  Well, it’s the same as putting gas into your car, you go to a hydrogen refueling station. The difference is, it’ll only take you 6 minutes to fill up and your vehicle will be refueled with a full tank with a driving range of up to 500 miles. Currently, there are around 139 H2 stations in Europe.

In The News

HV Systems has been shortlisted for the prestigious Edie Awards-Sustainability Leaders. The Edie Awards recognizes companies for Low Carbon innovations. These are companies that want to make a difference in the world by eliminating waste and pollution in the environment. Being one of the finalists is like being nominated for an Oscar or Nobel Prize.

Congratulations to HV Systems!
