On the occasion of the European Sustainable Development Week, Optymo presented its plans going forward to introduce not only hybrid buses but also hydrogen fuel cell powered buses to replace its old and ageing buses.
By the end of 2019 Optymo will introduce 30 new hybrid buses. The first hydrogen test bus should be deployed in 2020 in Belfort and six hydrogen buses will be in operation by 2021.
The plan is that by 2024 20 hydrogen buses will be in service.
Optymo President, Bernard Guillemet said, ” From 2020 we are obliged, that when we order new buses, to get at least half of them from clean energy. In 2025, all our orders will have to come from clean energy ,”
