France: Les Allais Shipyards to Build Hydrogen Powered Trawler

During his trip to announce the Normandy Hydrogen Plan, Hervé Morin, Region President also mentioned the financial support given to the project to build a hydrogen-powered trawler by Chantiers Allais, a subsidiary of the EFINORgroup .

A trawler with hydrogen propulsion

The trawler is to built by Les Allais in 2019, and will be powered by electric motor using hydrogen fuel cell technology.

The Trawler will be used in training by the Cherbourg-en-Cotentin Maritime & Aquaculture High School, and will have similar power output as a diesel engine of 480kw.

Project partners

The project partners include SYMBIO , ERGOSUP , specialist in hydrogen production and storage.
