- Cars to Refuel with Hydrogen at a New Station that Pitpoint is Building in Arnhem
The municipality of Arnhem and the province of Gelderland want to more than double the number of hydrogen cars in the Netherlands. At the moment there are about 60 hydrogen cars in the Netherlands. A new tender must ensure that eighty hydrogen cars will be added in the coming period. The intention is for the first hydrogen cars to drive around in 2019 through this tender. The cars can refuel at the hydrogen filling station that PitPoint opens in Arnhem in June 2019.
Impulse to Drive on Hydrogen
The tender is aimed at devising a stimulus approach, which will result in 80 additional hydrogen cars in the Arnhem region. Oskar Voorsmit, Business Development Manager Hydrogen at PitPoint: “We are very pleased with this tender because vehicles using the new hydrogen filling station are essential. “
New Hydrogen Re-Fueling Station
The new station in Arnhem will be the third hydrogen filling station in addition to the existing stations in Antwerp and Delfzijl for PitPoint. The new filling station will be built at the same location where PitPoint now has a CNG filling station. At the new station on the Westervoortsedijk both passenger cars (700 bar) and buses and refuse trucks (350 bar) will be able to refuel.
The station will be realized under the flag of the H2Nodes project financed by the Connecting European Facility (CEF). In addition, the project receives support from the DKTI scheme, with which the Dutch government supports projects in sustainable transport.
