
FuelCellWorks–In its recent announcement, the Federal Minister for Transport and Digital Infrastructure announced that around 23.5 million euros would be funded to projects ranging from forklift trucks to equipping a ride-pooling fleet to the development of a hydrogen bus and a fuel-cell-powered street sweeper. The largest amount will be given to Deutsche Post DHL and Man
The Deutsche Post DHL Group has received the longest-possible funding, German Post DHL Group will receive a total of 9.8 million euros for the procurement of 500 fuel cell vehicles from its own subsidiary ( StreetScooter ) for use in the package delivery company in the German Post DHL Group.
MAN & Shell with Anleg GmbH and TU Braunschweig are to receive around 8.1 million euros for the development, testing and research for a fuel cell system for heavy commercial vehicles as well as a mobile and self-sufficient refueling facility.
Andreas Scheuer, Federal Minister for Transport and Digital Infrastructure said, “Hydrogen, fuel cells, and electricity move the future. We have seen many studies and pilot projects in recent years. We really need them on the road now – because today we have to convince citizens that the technology works and is a real milestone towards tomorrow’s carbon-neutral mobility.”
