South Korea: Komemtec Completes 2nd Factory for Mass Production of Hydrogen Fuel Cell Parts

Hydrogen fuel cell parts developer Komemtec Komemtec announced that it has recently completed the construction of a second plant with cleanroom facilities in Yeongnam Daema Industrial Complex, Jeonnam.

The company is planning to mass-produce a polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) reinforced composite membrane with a maximum width of 800mm for use in hydrogen fuel cell membranes in its technical research center and production facilities.

In addition to small hydrogen vehicles, the company plans to expand production for medium and large hydrogen vehicles and energy storage systems (ESS).

Kim Sung-Chul, CEO of Komemtec, said, “The completion of the second plant has laid the foundation for the advancement of price and quality in the competition with global hydrogen vehicle industry leaders such as the US and Japan.”
