The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy announced on July 6 that the 17 member companies of the Korea H2 Business Summit have increased their planned investment in the hydrogen industry by 2030 by more than 7 trillion won to over 50 trillion won. According to the ministry, this is because the revised Economic Promotion and Safety Control of Hydrogen Act is scheduled to take effect within this year to eliminate uncertainties to a large extent.
Green hydrogen trade can provide a low-cost alternative that diversifies energy imports and improves energy security, says new IRENA report.
GASCADE and Fluxys as long-standing partners in pipeline infrastructure join forces in two key projects for shaping the hydrogen economy in Germany: doing hydrogen and AquaDuctus. These infrastructure projects are to connect hydrogen demand centres with onshore and offshore hydrogen production, making a major contribution to Germany’s decarbonisation efforts.
Gov. David Ige signed a package of bills into law that advance climate change and help the state quickly transition to a clean energy economy.
ebs, Käppeli and IWB have submitted a planning application for a hydrogen production plant at the surfacing site in Seewen. By the end of 2024, the three companies want to produce CO2-neutral hydrogen with renewable electricity from the Wernisberg hydroelectric power plant. The two companies ebs Hydrogen AG and Käppeli Hydrogen AG were founded to implement the project.
Today, Dutch Minister for Climate and Energy Rob Jetten announced new plans for the construction of a national transport network for hydrogen. Gasunie will develop the hydrogen network in the Netherlands in the coming years, after which it will assume the role of TSO (Transmission System Operator). Gasunie will also play an important role in the storage and import of hydrogen. Due to the expected growth in offshore hydrogen production in the North Sea, Minister Jetten will investigate whether Gasunie can also fulfill the role of grid operator at sea. These new plans are a major step in the development of a more sustainable energy system in the Netherlands.
