  • SPIE has been commissioned by the Chair of Energy Process Engineering at the Dresden University of Technology for the automation of a pilot unit that can produce a hydrogen-rich synthesis gas.
  • The aim of the research project[1], funded by the Development Bank of Saxony (SAB), is to convert pyrolysis gas into a synthesis gas that contains hydrogen.
  • At the heart of the pilot system are reactors that use innovative materials to convert the pyrolysis gas components into a synthesis gas that contains hydrogen.
  • After separation, the hydrogen contained in the synthesis gas produced can be supplied to the growing hydrogen market.
  • SPIE installed the sensors as well as the instrumentation and control technology for the unit. It also programmed the automation and control systems, which process and display physical parameters.
